Cairo International Bank (CIB) is a commercial bank in Uganda. It is one of the twenty-two (22) banks licensed by Bank of Uganda, the national banking regulator.[3]

CIB is small retail bank, with an asset valuation of approximately US$24 million, as of May 2009. This asset valuation represents less than 1% of all bank assets in Uganda and ranks Cairo International Bank as the nineteenth (19th) largest commercial bank in Uganda, by assets, out of twenty-two (22) licensed commercial banks in the country.[4]
Cairo International Bank began operations in 1995, after receiving a commercial banking license from the Bank of Uganda.[5]
Cairo International Bank is a joint venture between several Egyptian banks and businesses, including: Banque Du Caire, Bank of Alexandria, National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr and Kato Aromatics SAE. Kato Aromatics SAE is an Egyptian Company owned by Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, dealing in several businesses worldwide including developing an industrial park in Uganda.[6]
